Slovenia open again to tourists
Since the beginning of July tourists from various countries have been able to travel to Slovenia again without any obstacles or quarantine measures. The golf courses are also open again. And that's good news for golfers who like to play on golf courses abroad.
Tourism is an important market for Slovenia. Golf tourism is upcoming But not all golfers have found the country with its beautiful golf courses. That may change in the near future. There is also a greater need among golfers for destinations that can be reached by car. At the moment you are never sure if you can go back if you go on holiday by plane. With a car, you are more likely to get away if a country or region threatens to lockdown.
Golf courses in the middle of the beautiful nature of Slovenia
The golf courses of Slovenia are among the most beautiful in Europe. They are located in typical landscapes on the edge of the Pannonian plain, between vineyards and rolling hills, under mountain peaks and in the idyllic karst landscape. Due to the short distances within Slovenia, you can reach most golf clubs from Ljubljana within an hour.
Royal Bled Golf & Country Club is the oldest and largest golf course in Slovenia. It is a real championship course, spacious, high in quality. In addition, the track is almost at the foot of the (Julian) Alps, which means that the views on this track are simply spectacular.
Besides the golf course in Bled there are many other golf courses in this country. An overview can be found at www.slovenia.info/golf.
There is also a golf brochure available for download at issuu.com/slovenia/docs/golf-slovenia-eng.
Much more to see
Slovenia has more to offer than just golf. Sixty percent of the country is green and forested. It has a national park (Triglav), three regional parks and 34 landscape parks where mass tourism is an unknown phenomenon.
In Slovenia too, all companies involved in tourism, such as hotels, campsites, restaurants, attractions and other tourist companies, must apply hygiene, routing and behavioral measures. They can be recognized by the round Green & Safe sticker.
