Adare Manor best golfresort Ireland by Golf Digest Editor's Choice Award
One of golf’s most influential publications, Golf Digest, has announced that County Limerick’s 5* hotel and golf resort, Adare Manor, has been awarded a prestigious Editor’s Choice Award in the category of ‘Best Golf Resorts in Great Britain and Ireland 2018’.
The Golf Digest’s Editor’s Choice Awards, launched in 2016, represent the best products, services and properties in golf across the globe. The Best Golf Resorts list, in particular, examines criteria beyond golfing, determinant which locations provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted experience that can be tailored to individual needs and preferences.
Adare Manor was hailed for providing an exceptional visitor experience even before the official launch of The Golf Course at Adare Manor, which will be marked on April 20th with a historic exhibition match between leading Irish golfers Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley and Shane Lowry.
Celebrated golf architect, Tom Fazio, was recruited by Adare Manor to undertake the comprehensive two-year reconstruction, transforming the pre-existing course into a layout immediately capable of hosting the world’s most prestigious events and which is set for further recognition alongside the most respected layouts in the game.
Complemented by a magnificent setting upon the Adare Manor estate and the opulence of the 5* Manor House, which has also undergone an extensive refurbishment, Ireland’s pre-eminent castle and golf resort was an obvious choice for Golf Digest editors.
Colm Hannon, Chief Executive Officer of Adare Manor, said: “It is an honour to be recognised by such an influential publication in our industry. Winning a place amongst Great Britain and Ireland’s finest golf resort destinations is testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of all the team here at Adare Manor.
“2018 is on course to be the strongest year in our history as we launch our reconstructed golf course following the successful reopening of the Manor House in November 2017.”
Set amidst a mature, 842-acre Adare Manor estate close to the picturesque village of Adare, golfers can expect the new golf course to match the timeless grandeur of the Manor House. Surrounded by medieval ruins, walled gardens and winding woodland paths, the resort encompasses a new 42-bedroom wing, expansive ballroom, La Mer spa, and an exceptional gastronomy programme to deliver an unforgettable guest experience.
